Bayern Munich in the German Cup continued on to the semifinals. In the quarterfinals, the team made it to get rid of Jupp Heynckes VfB Stuttgart with a score of 2-0.
Compete at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Stuttgart, Wednesday (08/02/2012), Bayern opened the scoring in the 30th minute through Franck Ribery feet. Ribery is apt to cheat Thomas Mueller’s cross from the right side.
Bayern created the second goal in the 46th minute. Starting from the right wing bait Mueller, fire first time Mario Gomez can still be blocked by goalkeeper Sven Ulreich. But, the ball rebounded back and this time struck Ulreich Gomez could not stop.
Until the end of the game, the score was 2-0 to Bayern victory unchanged. The visitors had the right to qualify for the semifinals.
In other quarterfinal games, Hoffenheim were knocked out by a team Division Two, Greuther Furth, with the score 0-1. There are also qualified after beating Borussia Monchengladbach Hertha Berlin 2-0 through extra time.
Thus, the four teams that qualified for the semifinals is Bayern, Monchengladbach, Greuther Furth, and Borussia Dortmund.
