Kaka’s father has suggested the Real Madrid star may be open to a return to AC Milan.
Kaka has struggled to live up to expectations in Madrid since his then-world record move in 2009, and was sidelined for the first half of this season through injury.
Rumours have persisted that he could depart the Bernabeu and, while Inter, Chelsea and Manchester City have been among the clubs linked, a return to Milan appears more likely should he decide to move on.
Bosco Leite, Kaka’s father and agent, was at the San Siro as Milan recorded a 3-0 victory over title rivals Napoli on Monday night. Asked if there was any prospect of a return, he said: “You’ll have to ask [Milan vice-president] Adriano Galliani. We’ll see what happens.”
Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri was coy about the chances of Kaka re-signing for the Rossoneri.
“The transfer window is closed,” he said. “We’ll discuss this issue again in the summer.”
Zlatan Ibrahimovic indicated that he would welcome Kaka but said he was happy with the players already at the club. “Kaka is a great champion, but I’m satisfied with the squad we have now,” he said.
